Dharma's dupioni comes from China. JoAnn's from India and appears to have more body than Dharma's before the process, but both have a wonderful drape afterward. My friend's slubby fabric I think was Thai silk from India.Pat Vivodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09411887608636024114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2036939980065534881.post-74539523302826277052012-01-19T16:02:04.280-06:002012-01-19T16:02:04.280-06:00Dharma is my source for 45" wide and it is mu...Dharma is my source for 45" wide and it is much smoother I think than Thai silks. A friend showed me her dupioni and it was a world away from mine. Very nubby. The 55" width dupioni came from JoAnn's Fabrics retail store nearby. Much more expensive there. Looks different from Dharma's before the process but the fabric is nearly identical after I've abused it, LOL. I would like to experiment with the nubby fabric some day.Pat Vivodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09411887608636024114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2036939980065534881.post-9458807297701114042012-01-19T11:47:25.277-06:002012-01-19T11:47:25.277-06:00GREAT work, Pat! The Indian is less expensive but it's more nubby so I wondered about how it would print. Again beautiful pieces.Lorri Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15231052267534572614noreply@blogger.com
